Named after Annapoorna, the goddess who never lets a plate go empty. Every morning, before the city wakes, we light the lamp, steam the idlis and send the House out to your street.

अनुशासन
Discipline starts before sunrise.
Long before Nalasopara wakes up, the lamp at the House is lit. The batter was ground last evening and has been rising quietly all night. Same hour, same care, every single day.
The kitchen opens at 2:00 AM

परंपरा
The recipe came from home. It stays that way.
Rice, urad dal, a pinch of salt and a lot of patience. Our idlis are steamed in small batches, so every one comes out soft enough to give way to a spoon.
Made fresh, every morning

03:15 AM
मेदु वडा
Crisp outside. Soft inside.
Shaped by hand, then fried until the outside crackles and the inside stays soft. Turn the sound on. This is what 3:15 at the House sounds like.

03:40 AM
तैयार
Packed hot. Out the door.
Everything made this morning goes into steel dabbas while it is still steaming, and onto the carts before the city gets going.

Asked at the cart.
Where can I get fresh idli and medu vada in Nalasopara?
From our two carts in Nalasopara East: outside Nalasopara Station (East) at Sunshine Garden, and by the East–West Flyover at Dubey Estate.
What time do the carts open?
Every day at 4:30 AM. The food leaves our kitchen at 4:00 AM, so the first plate of the day is as fresh as it gets.
Is everything pure vegetarian?
Yes. Everything we make is 100% vegetarian.
Where is the food cooked?
At the House, our own kitchen at Shop 17, Kailash Tower, Yashwant Viva Township, near DMart, Nalasopara East. The idlis are steamed and the vadas fried there every morning, then sent hot to the carts.
What is on the menu?
A South Indian breakfast, kept simple: soft idli with sambar and coconut chutney, ghee podi idli, crisp medu vada, sambar vada and an idli vada combo.
Can I order on WhatsApp, Zomato or Swiggy?
WhatsApp, yes: add what you want from the menu on this page and send the order. Zomato and Swiggy are coming soon.
Do you take bulk orders for pujas, offices and functions?
Yes. Fill in the bulk order letter on this page with the date, the number of people and your area, and we will plan the morning with you.
